Nick Jordan's grassoots campaign, Ryun's "positive" pledge...

The Konnection ran into Sen. Nick Jordan and some of his staff recently at the Burger King franchise near College Blvd. and Antioch--the franchise owned by JoCo County Commissioner David Lindstrom. In fact, Jordan and his staff were meeting with Lindstrom at the popular chain to discuss upcoming election strategy. Jordan and his staff then proceeded to make the rounds at the restaurant, handing out literature to restaurant patrons comparing Moore's record to Jordan's. Jordan was received positively by most of the lunch crowd--evidenced by almost no handouts left behind by departing customers. This is the type of grassroots politics that Kansans are hunger for, and if Jordan's campaign continues to reach out to the voters and make the case that Moore has become just another washed-up D.C. politician, Kansans will throw out the congressman who has now spent a decade in D.C. for a fresh, new face in what will be another anti-incumbent election. Will it be "Moore of the same" or a new direction built on ideas and innovation? That is for 3rd District residents to decide...

Jim Ryun emailed supporters, pledging to run a clean, positive primary campaign and extending an offer to Lynn Jenkins to do so as well. If Ryun is sincere, Republicans welcome the development, since his campaign was the first to go negative last year, personally attacking Jenkins' character and judgment as state treasurer and causing the Jenkin's campaign to fire back and accuse Ryun of being too cozy with lobbyists. The Konnection knows both candidates realize they must run positive, clean campaigns if either of them are to unite the party in November to defeat Boyda. We hope this isn't just showboating, and that Jenkins and Ryun focus on the issues and target Boyda's disasterous record instead of playing petty politics by attacking eachother.

So this brings Jordan's list of voters contacted outside of fundraisers up to, what, 15?

I wish Ryun would just realize that he cannot beat Boyda. Half of his base hates him, and the other knows that. He will never represent Kansas at the National level again. The problem is he is going to waste a ton of time and money campagining just to drag Jenkins name through the mud. Lynn is the Republicans best change to beat Boyda, and it is to bad that Jim is still so out of touch that he does not know this.

Jordan doesn't have a chance in hell. He'll lose by bigger margin than the last GOP nominee ... and nobody even remembers the name of the last GOP nominee. Unless Moore gets buried in some unpredicted scandal, he can keep his seat as long as he wants. 2000 was the year when he could have been beat ... but the idiotic GOP nominated Phill Kline - probably the worst possible candidate. In 2002, the GOP had a real shot with Adam Taff ... but the conservatives didn't really seem interested in winning. Moore isn't a particularly good Congressman. But, the GOP is so screwed up that they'll never beat him.

The Club for Growth pointed out Jenkins' tax raising tendencies.Ryun has never said anything negative about Jenkins.
The 2nd poster: Either you can't read poll numbers or you are whistling through the daisies. 35 points is too much for Jenkins to overcome. She's going to try and go scorched earth against Ryun and still lose. BTW-why are she and her camp trying to actively raise money outside of Kansas?

Boyda is a waste of skin....

Isn't is funny that this is the best Kansas can muster ?

To the 2nd poster....

Wake up....you are dreaming.

Hey Kenig, did you audit the trash cans at Burger King?

Seems like a flimsy poll to me, but hey, it is better than waking up next to the King, I will give you that.

Brandon,

Keep auditing whatever you like.

I was at a recent event and there were a lot more than 15 there.

Go Nick !!!

Ryun is not the greatest in my estimation. However, Jenkins and Boyda are sad examples of how the good ones stay home.

It is like McCain and Obama. My vote for one is really a vote against the other.

Our politics have the same smell and texture of a garbage dump.

Jordan is an exception. I find his approach refreshing (but then, to be fair, the new kids always get that break). When the issues come out, I hope he is clear on his positions.

We would not want Dennis "The Blue Dog (yeah, right)" Moore to get a free pass.

Will be a tight race as Moore will have lots of Soros type money to throw at the brainwashed voters in this area.

Mexico or bust !

Hey, take it easy on Brandon! His inner liberal is still mourning Rudy's failed bid for the top lib.
